Most of us know what we should be doing to stay in shape.
Or as is often the case what we shouldn’t be doing!
But giving up unhealthy habits is easier said than done.
It often involves resisting our brains’ reward circuits which have been hard-wired through repetition and dopamine to reinforce certain behaviours.
Even when those behaviours are completely at odds with our long-term wellbeing.
So here is an experiment to try.
Can you give up your unhealthy habit for 30 days?
The first few weeks will likely be a challenge.
But sitting with your urges and acknowledging their presence without acting on them will slowly but surely help loosen dopamine’s grip on your unwanted actions.
