Side Plank

The side plank is an isometric (static) exercise which will work your oblique muscles. Turn your body side on and rest on your forearm and feet which can either be stacked on top of each other or put in a split stance as pictured. Lift your hips off the ground to form a long straight line with your body. Raise your other arm vertically overhead and hold this alignment for as long as possible. Avoid letting your hips sag down towards the ground.
