Zesty Porridge

Ingredients (Serves 1)

  • 50g jumbo oats (use gluten free if preferred)

  • 200ml milk of your choice

  • 20g creamy tahini

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

  • A small pinch of ground cardamom seeds (optional)

  • 1 tsp finely grated lemon zest

  • 1 tsp finely grated orange zest

  • 25g vanilla flavour protein powder (optional)

  • 1/2 tbsp maple syrup

  • 3g pistachios, finely chopped

Nutrition

  • Per Serving: 413 Calories, 44g Carbs, 30g Protein, 13g Fat

Preparation

  • Place the oats and milk in a saucepan over a medium flame

  • Cook for 4 minutes, stirring frequently until thick and creamy

  • Add more milk or cold water during cooking time, if the porridge becomes too thick

  • Add the tahini, cinnamon, cardamom, lemon and orange zest

  • Stir well and cook for 2 minutes

  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and leave to stand for 5 minutes

  • Add the protein powder, if using, and stir rapidly until smooth

  • Serve topped with maple syrup, pistachios, and a sprinkle of orange and lemon zest, if desired
