Spiced Porridge With Protein Drizzle

Ingredients (Serves 1)

  • 65g oats (use gluten free if preferred)

  • 180ml unsweetened almond milk (or use milk of your choice)

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg

  • ¼ tsp allspice

  • 20g vanilla or cinnamon flavour whey or plant-based protein powder

For the drizzle:

  • 10g vanilla or cinnamon flavour whey or plant-based protein powder

  • 20ml milk of your choice

For the topping:

  • 3g walnuts, chopped

Nutrition

  • Per serving: 386 calories, 31g protein, 43g carbs, 10g fat

Preparation

  • Place the oats and milk in a saucepan and cook for 2 minutes over a medium flame, stirring occasionally

  • Stir in the spices, and more milk if required, and cook for 2 minutes or until thick and creamy

  • Remove the pan from the heat and set aside for 5 minutes

  • Meanwhile mix the drizzle ingredients in a bowl, adding more milk or water if required to achieve a slightly runny consistency

  • Add 20g protein powder to the cooked oats and stir rapidly until smooth

  • Transfer the oats to a bowl and top with the drizzle and chopped walnuts
