Ingredients (Serves 2)
110g jumbo oats (use gluten free if preferred)
300ml cold water
½ tsp sea salt
70g unsweetened apple sauce
½ tsp ground cinnamon
30g vanilla flavour whey or plant-based protein powder
Topping
20g walnuts, chopped
4 tbsps maple syrup

Preparation
Place the oats and water in a saucepan over a medium flame
Stir well and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until cooked
Add more milk or cold water during cooking time if the porridge is too thick
Stir in the apple sauce and cinnamon
Stir well and cook for 2 minutes
Remove the pan from the heat and leave to cool for a few minutes
Add the protein powder and stir rapidly until smooth
Transfer to two bowls and add the toppings
