Apple And Cinnamon Porridge

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 110g jumbo oats (use gluten free if preferred)

  • 300ml cold water

  • ½ tsp sea salt

  • 70g unsweetened apple sauce

  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon

  • 30g vanilla flavour whey or plant-based protein powder

Topping

  • 20g walnuts, chopped

  • 4 tbsps maple syrup

Nutrition

  • Per Serving: 392 Calories, 51g Carbs, 20g Protein, 12g Fat

Preparation

  • Place the oats and water in a saucepan over a medium flame

  • Stir well and cook for 4-5 minutes, or until cooked

  • Add more milk or cold water during cooking time if the porridge is too thick

  • Stir in the apple sauce and cinnamon

  • Stir well and cook for 2 minutes

  • Remove the pan from the heat and leave to cool for a few minutes

  • Add the protein powder and stir rapidly until smooth

  • Transfer to two bowls and add the toppings
