Social media thrives on novelty. This means fitness influencers won’t bother posting information about mundane exercises like regular push ups. Too boring and will gain no traction from their followers.
Instead wacky new variations are created to delight and wow their audience (sigh!)
Most of these variations are at best completely pointless, at worst dangerous for your joints and connective tissues.
My advice, ignore all the exercises you see on social media which look like circus tricks.
Stick to the boring basics.
They work.
